Across the United States, businesses of all sizes – from your local corner store to national brands – are harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to operate more effectively and efficiently. AI-powered tools are revolutionizing how companies manage their marketing and advertising, making it possible to accomplish tasks that were previously considered too time-consuming, expensive, or complex.
This is particularly important for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), as four out of five SMBs have fewer than 10 employees1. With limited staff and resources, SMBs often find it challenging to compete with larger companies. AI is changing that. Now, SMBs can leverage AI to automate tasks, personalize customer experiences, and optimize their marketing campaigns, all while saving time and money.
In fact, 83% of US SMBs are already utilizing AI for digital advertising and marketing, according to a survey of 1,200 US SMBs conducted by Advertiser Perceptions in partnership with the Connected Commerce Council and Google in April 2024. Here are a few examples of how they’re putting AI to work:
- Ideating on product names and descriptions
- Producing engaging social media posts
- Creating captivating ad copy
- Generating advertisements in multiple formats
- Analyzing which ads resonate most with different customers
- Identifying which products are best-sellers
- Crafting messages that speak to the unique needs and interests of customers
The impact of AI on American businesses extends beyond just execution; it’s saving them time and money. In fact:
- 95% of US SMBs think AI will help them improve their ad campaigns
- 46% of SMBs expect AI to boost marketing efficiency
- 45% of SMBs expect AI to help them save money on ad creative
- 43% of US SMBs expect AI to cut their overall marketing costs
The bottom line: AI is empowering businesses to work faster and smarter. By automating tasks, optimizing campaigns, and personalizing customer experiences, AI frees up valuable time and resources for SMBs. This allows businesses to focus on what matters most: growth and investment in employees, new product development and innovation, and ultimately, greater success in today’s competitive market.
